Renting a Dumpster
How long can I keep my dumpster?
Our standard dumpster rentals include up to 5 days, giving you plenty of time to complete most home cleanouts, remodeling projects, roofing jobs, or landscaping projects. Need it longer? No problem. Additional rental days are available for a small daily fee, subject to availability.
Do I have to be home when my dumpster is delivered?
No. As long as your payment has been made and you've clearly marked where you'd like the dumpster placed, we'll deliver it even if you're away. We'll also text or call if we have any questions during delivery.
Where can the dumpster be placed?
Most customers place our rubber-wheeled dumpsters on their driveway. They can also be placed on private property such as parking lots or gravel areas. If you're considering placing a dumpster on a public street, check with your local municipality regarding permit requirements before scheduling delivery.
Can I move the dumpster after it's delivered?
No. Once the dumpster has been safely positioned, it should not be moved by the customer. Moving the trailer without the proper equipment can damage the trailer, your property, or create an unsafe situation. If you need it relocated, simply contact us and we'll schedule a move if possible.
How high can I load the dumpster?
Material must remain level with the top rails of the dumpster. Nothing may extend above the sides because overloaded dumpsters cannot be transported safely or legally. If you need additional space, we'll gladly swap dumpsters or schedule another rental.
How far in advance should I reserve?
We recommend reserving your dumpster several days in advance whenever possible, especially during spring, summer, and weekends when demand is highest. However, same-day or next-day delivery may be available depending on our schedule.
What happens when I'm finished?
Simply call or text us when you're done loading. We'll schedule pickup as soon as possible and haul everything away so you don't have to make multiple trips to the landfill yourself.
Pricing & Weight
How much weight is included?
Our 10-yard dumpsters include up to 2 tons of disposal, while our 20-yard dumpsters include up to 3 tons. If your load exceeds the included weight, additional disposal charges are billed at our published prorated rate.
How do I know how much my debris weighs?
Most household junk, furniture, remodeling debris, and general cleanouts stay within the included weight. Heavy materials such as roofing shingles, drywall, plaster, concrete, dirt, brick, sand, and stone weigh significantly more. If you're unsure, contact us before booking and we'll help recommend the right dumpster.
What if I only have heavy material?
Concrete, dirt, brick, sand, rock, and similar dense materials are not accepted in our standard dumpsters. If you have specialty debris, contact us before scheduling so we can discuss available options.
How can I avoid extra weight charges?
Avoid mixing heavy construction debris with household junk whenever possible. Loading bulky but lighter materials first and distributing the weight evenly also helps keep your load safe for transport.
When is payment due?
Payment is due on or before delivery. We accept major credit cards and other approved payment methods. Once your reservation is confirmed, your scheduled delivery date is secured.
Loading the Dumpster
What's the best way to load a dumpster?
Start with the largest and heaviest items on the bottom, then fill gaps with smaller debris. Breaking down furniture, boxes, and bulky items helps maximize available space and allows you to fit more into the dumpster.
Can debris stick up above the sides?
No. For safety and transportation regulations, every load must remain level with the top of the dumpster. Material extending above the rails must be removed before pickup.
Can I throw loose debris into the dumpster?
Yes. Household junk, remodeling debris, lumber, drywall, furniture, yard waste, and similar approved materials can all be loaded loose. We recommend bagging smaller lightweight debris whenever practical to help keep your cleanup organized.
How much room should I leave around the dumpster?
Please leave several feet of clearance around the trailer whenever possible so the doors can fully open and we can safely hook up the trailer during pickup.
Accepted Materials
What can I put in the dumpster?
Our dumpsters are perfect for household junk, furniture, remodeling debris, drywall, lumber, cabinets, flooring, roofing materials (within weight limits), fencing, decking, yard waste, brush, and general construction debris.
What items are prohibited?
For safety and landfill regulations, we cannot accept concrete, dirt, brick, sand, rock, tires, batteries, paint (unless completely dried), propane tanks, gasoline, oil, chemicals, hazardous waste, asbestos, liquids, freon appliances, or other hazardous materials.
Can I throw away yard waste?
Yes. Branches, brush, leaves, shrubs, grass clippings, and other organic yard debris are accepted. Please do not mix dirt, concrete, rocks, or landscaping stone with yard waste.
Can I dispose of appliances?
Some appliances are accepted. However, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and other appliances containing freon require special handling and cannot be placed in our dumpsters. Contact us first if you're unsure.
Roofing Projects
Can I use your dumpsters for roofing shingles?
Absolutely. Our dumpster trailers are a great choice for residential roofing projects. Please let us know approximately how many squares you're removing so we can recommend the correct dumpster size.
What if my roof is larger?
Large roofing jobs may require multiple dumpsters or scheduled swaps. This helps prevent overweight loads while keeping your project moving without delays.
Dump Day Load N Go
What is Dump Day Load N Go?
Load N Go is our live-load service. We deliver the dumpster, stay while you load for approximately one hour, and haul everything away immediately. You get the convenience of a dumpster without keeping it overnight.
Who is Load N Go best for?
It's ideal for customers who already have help available and can load everything quickly. It's also popular for garage cleanouts, moving, estate cleanups, weekend projects, and contractor jobs that require immediate debris removal.
Dump Day Express
What is Dump Day Express?
Dump Day Express is our affordable solution for customers who only have a few items to dispose of. We bring the trailer, you load your items while we wait, and we immediately haul everything away. There's no full dumpster rental and no junk removal crew entering your home.
Who is Express best for?
Perfect for a few pieces of furniture, garage clutter, basement cleanups, moving leftovers, small renovation debris, or when city trash pickup simply isn't enough.
Contractors
Do you work with contractors?
Yes. We work with roofing contractors, remodelers, property managers, real estate professionals, builders, and commercial customers throughout Metro Detroit. Contractor pricing, recurring dumpster rentals, scheduled swap-outs, and repeat service are available.
Can I schedule multiple dumpsters?
Absolutely. We can schedule multiple deliveries, swap-outs, and recurring dumpster service depending on availability and your project needs.
